A Band of Rogues has been making music in one form or another since the early 90's, when core members Tommy O'Callaghan, Joe O'Brien, and Bobby Moller first started playing Irish-Rock as the "Flailin' Shillelagh's." Known for their satirical original, the "Potato Song", the Shillelagh's were a staple in the New York Irish/rock/punk scene.

Eventually, the "Flailin' Shillelagh's" became "The Moonshiners Band" with Tommy, Joe and Bobby recruiting Patsy Lonzello to form the new line-up. In 2005, Tommy Burns, of NJ's own "Burns & Cashman" added accordion, acoustic guitar and vocals to the band. The Moonshiner's recorded their first CD, "The Boys & Girls In Blue", featuring the title track dedicated to their many friends in the NYPD.  The CD was released in July of 2007, and is available for sale on this website.

With a new name, and a revamped line up, A Band of Rogues continue to add musical depth and breadth to their line-up, bringing Frank Banafato as their lead guitar player and Meredith Rachel on fiddle. With Patsy's retirement, Rich Shields was brought in on the bass.  With the addition of Sean McNally in 2011, the Rogues have continued to define themselves as one of New York's hardest hitting Irish bands, bringing a contemporary edge to the music, but with an understanding of the long tradition of Irish Music in America.
